Tips On How To Win Tickets To Wicked – Part 1

Wicked-posterPart 1: Tips on how to win tickets to wicked, win concert tickets and other events.

I was very lucky that in 2011 I won tickets to WICKED.  I wanted to share some tips on how to increase your chances of winning tickets to WICKED and other events.  A good amount of the prizes I have won have come from online radio and TV contests.

I would first recommend making a list of all the radio stations on your FM dial.  You will find the easy listening stations, hip-hop stations, classical, top forty stations, and other speaking language stations.  Even if you are not a fan of that genre, I would still check out their websites and head to their contest page to see what type of contests and prizes they have.

They will have contests to win concert tickets, win movie tickets, win a car, win cash, win prizes to local events, and win prizes from their sponsors.  The main thing is not the music played on the stations, but the type of contests they run; so I would suggest becoming members of as many as you like.

The same applies for your local TV stations.  Check out the websites for your local news affiliates and most will have a contest page.  If they have a membership, sign up.  Your local newspapers are also a great source of contests.  Check out their websites and if they have membership, sign up.  I encourage signing up only to make entering the contests later on easier.  You just use your login and password and you’re good to go.

If you are a sporting fan, switch over to the AM dial and make a list of your local sports stations.  They run contests to win sporting event tickets.  You can win basketball tickets, win baseball tickets and tickets for other sporting events.

I would recommend creating a second email account just for the purpose of entering contests. If you don’t mind receiving all those newsletters to you inbox, then don’t bother with a second email address.  You can always go into each website’s user account and select how often and what types of emails you want to receive.  They usually have a newsletter that is just for promotions and contests.  You can opt just to receive that.

Stay tuned for part 2.

Beauty Tips for Women: Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer – Guided by Starlight

Sharing a beauty product review of Guided by Starlight by Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer from their Holiday LE collection.

Guided by Starlight is white crème and jelly polish mix that is packed with hexes, squares, stars, moons, diamonds and dots.  There are also silver and gold holographic and metallic glitters. The polish is rather thick but it wasn’t difficult to apply at all.  I used only two coats and got full coverage.  I decided to pair this polish up with OPI – Skull & Glossbones.  I liked the color combination of gold, white and gray.

Win Tickets To Wicked

Wicked-posterIn order to win tickets to WICKED you have to know when WICKED is coming to your city. Broadway Across America is a great website to find out about all touring Broadway shows. Once you find out that your city is part of the tour, mark your calendars to win tickets to Wicked. Most local radio stations will host contests to win tickets to Wicked about a week or two before the tour arrives in town.

Also pay close attention to your local TV channels; you might see an advertisement for Wicked then a blurb about how to win tickets to Wicked. Take a moment to log on to your local radio station and local TV station’s websites to become members of their clubs and you will find unadvertised contests just for members to win tickets to Wicked and other shows and all you have to do is just login and enter. Read the contest rules carefully about how often you can enter but most likely it will be once a week.

Make it a habit to check the radio and tv stations websites on a Monday, as they list new contests that day that run for the week. By Thursday they will select and call the winners and notify them of what they have won and how they can claim it.

Please note that you will have to fill out paperwork and a tax form to claim your prize. The tax form will require a social security number. I would suggest not to give that information over the phone but wait until you can go to the radio or tv station to fill out the paperwork and pickup the prize.

Audiences have embraced the musical WICKED – The Untold Story of the Witches of Oz and made it a box office smash. WICKED sheds light on just how two seemingly opposite girls and unlikely to be friends become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good. WICKED the musical is based on the book Wicked – The Life and Time of the Wicked Witch of the West written by Gregory Maguire.

A piece of WICKED trivia to keep under your witch hat or tiara:
In the musical and the novel we finally find out the name of the wicked witch, Elphaba. It is pronounced EL-phaba, with the pronunciation on the first three syllables. The name Elphaba comes from the initials of the author of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz: Lyman Frank Baum. (L. F. B. = Elphaba).
