Beauty Tips for Women – Hawaiian Christmas Manicure

Bundle Monster came out with a special edition Hawaiian Christmas plate BM-SE1.  I love all things Hawaiian, Tiki, Polynesian in theme.  I needed to get my hands on it. Bundle Monster BM-SE1

The Hawaiian Christmas plate has 7 images on it.  I immediately feel in love with the Santa Tiki.  But all the images are super cute.  I did a test stamp on paper using Konad black and all the images transferred over and were clear.  I had absolutely no issues whatsoever.

I wanted to do nontraditional colors for my Christmas manicure and try to give it an island feel. I came up with the idea of putting the Santa Tiki on the beach with palm trees. Once I decided that it was time to pick the nail polish colors.

Here is a list of what I used:
LA Colors – Sassy Sparkly
China Glaze – For Audrey
Konad – Black & White
Rimmel – Hot Coca
Color Club – Earthly Angel
Ulta – Envy
Sally Hansen – Rapid Red
Maybelline – Bold Gold
Sally Hansen – Lighening
Pure Ice – Silver Mercedes

Santa TikiI started off with doing a base coat of For Audrey.  I sponged Earthly Angel on the tip of my nail to make a little beach area.  Using Envy I painted the palm trees free hand.  I then stamped the Santa Tiki in Hot Coca but only the Tiki not the hat.  I then filled in the image completely with Hot Coca waited for it to dry and added top coat.  The reason for doing this is if I messed up placing the black image over the brown I could take acetone and gently wipe it away without taking off the rest of the polish; basically erasing the mistake.  Next used Black for the Tiki, White for the trim and Rapid Red for the hat; I lined it up as best I can and rolled.  I practiced doing this method on nail art wheel a couple of times before tying it on my nails.  So I was able to get on the first try.  Topped it off with Seche Vite.

For the middle finger I used the Christmas tree.  I stamped the tree with Eny and the flower with Konad white.  With a dotting tool I placed red and yellow dots and used a gold striper to fill in the lines.  Topped it off with Seche Vite.  Index and pinky finger I added a coat of Sassy Sparkly.  It was my intention to do it on my middle finger but totally forgot and once I but the on the Seche Vite I didn’t want to go back and mess with it.  Using Konad White I stamped Mele Kalikimaka.  For the presents on the pinky I used Silver Mercedes and Bold Gold to stamp the presents.  Topped it off with Seche Vite.

I shared my manicure with Bundle Monster via Instagram and was blown away when they shared my manicure on their facebook page.  I love their stamping plates so it truly was an honor to make it onto their timeline.

I hope you enjoyed, Mele Kalikimaka everyone!

Beauty Tips for Women – Mickey Mouse Christmas Manicure

Here is a Christmas manicure I did before heading to Disney, featuring Mickey Mouse.  I used Milani 3D Holographic in Cyber Space.  Side note, picked up the set of Milani 3D Holographic polishes on clearance at CVS for 75% off.

I did the Mickey Mouse heads freehand using a black striper. I found it tough to get that round look but I tried my best.  Used a red striper to do the hat and dotting tool with white polish to make the trim on the hat.

I decided after wearing the manicure for two days that I wanted to add some snowflakes and some hidden Mickey Mouse heads too.  I wasn’t too happy with the way it looked.  The idea sounded better in my head.

My original idea for this manicure was the picture I did below.  My nails are not long enough to pull off the angled Mickey Mouse head and I couldn’t pull off stamping the Mickey heads in the background cause the main Mickey head would take up most of my nail.

Beauty tips for Women – Thanksgiving / Autumn Leaves Manicure

With Thanksgiving happening just around the corner I wanted to try my hand at doing a Thanksgiving manicure.  I was defiantly inspired to try by all the awesome nail art that has been popping up on facebook and instagram.

I decided to make a turkey but my own nails were to short to pull off the look, so I tried my idea out on a practice wheel.  I think my little turkey came out ok for a freehand design and I felt inspired to try out an autumn leaves design as well.  I really liked how the leaves came out so I decided that I would do these on my nails.

I started off with painting my nails China Glaze – Kalahari Kiss.

Then I added a coat of Sinful Colors – Pumpkin Spice.

I went through my stamping plates and selected 3 Bundle Monster plates to make the leave designs: BM04, BM05 and BM19

Next I selected the polishes to stamp the leaves with. I really wanted to get that autumn feel in the leaves when they are changing colors.  So I wanted to see if I could mix the colors on the stamping plate to get that effect.

From left to right:
Color Club – Red-ical Gypsy
Essence – Wake Up
Sally Hansen – Rapid Red
Ulta – Envy
Rimmel – Hot Coca
Seche Vite
Sinful Colors – Pumpkin Spice (didn’t stamp with it, just forgot to remove it from the line up)

I started off with my right hand since I always have a hard time stamping or doing any designs on my right hand.  The pinky, index and thumb were stamped with the leave image of BM04.  On the ring finger I wanted to try the full leaves image from BM19.  This plate is from Bundle Monster’s first set so their full images are small and never fit my full nails across. So I ended up having to try and add to the side that was left bare.  I think it came out ok. On the middle finger I stamped the solid image of a leave from BM05.  My nails are not long enough to fit the leave and stem in nicely so I tried to cover it up with the other leaves from BM04.

Taking the lessons I learned from stamping my right hand, I opted to leave out the image from BM05 on my left hand.  I still used the full leave image from BM05 but when I stamped it I took individual leaves to rearrange them so that it would cover my whole nail across.  I think it came out ok.  I gave the manicure a good topcoat of Seche Vite.

I shared my manicure on Bundle Monster’s facebook page and I got a nice compliment from them and others who liked the manicure.  I’m very pleased that it was liked and for all the encouraging words.
