The Wet Brush Review

Who wants to hear some beauty tips for women’s hair? I have to share a hair product review of The Wet Brush. I have to wonderful little girls, ages 6 and 3, but combing there hair is a nightmare. I had gotten to the point with my 6 year old that when her hair was past her shoulders I would cut it off because of the drama with all the crying and screaming due to her tangles and knots. My 3 year old was following the same path. My oldest has thick semi wavy hair that was always matted and knotted up. My youngest has fine semi wavy hair that easily gets knotted.

About 3 months ago, I was at my wits end again with my oldest and made an appointment to cut her hair. I happened to go to Bed Bath and Beyond where they had a huge display for The Wet Brush. I looked it over and thought it sounded to good to be true. Here is what the The Wet Brush claims; you can find out more at mywetbrush.com: It uses IntelliFlex bristles; works on both wet or dry hair; used for thick, curly or straight hair; makes detangling easy; great for wigs and extensions. I had already purchased two other detangling brushes that week and didn’t want to spend any more money. But I went ahead and got it anyway. I used my Bed Bath and Beyond coupon and paid $7 for the brush. I figured if it didn’t work on my girls then I would use it cause I have curly hair. Here is a picture of my hair and as you can see detangling can be an issue.

It was amazing! I combed their hair and not even a peep came out of them. They didn’t realize that I was combing their hair, if you can believe that one. I wanted to give The Wet Brush a longer test drive before I headed out to get another one. So my testing lasted 2 weeks. I combed their hair while wet and dry with no problems. I used The Wet Brush to style their hair in their ponytails and piggy tails without a tear. Into the second week they wanted to comb their own hair. I was so excited and happy, no more tears or screaming! My hair was a breeze to detangle, I was hooked. I went back to Bed Bath and Beyond to pick up another one and to my dismay the display was gone and so were all the brushes. I had the good fortune to find The Wet Brush at local beauty supply store and they had a large selection of colors and designs. I picked up a second one with happy stars on it. Here is a picture of my oldest combing her hair with The Wet Brush.

I can’t recommend The Wet Brush enough. I took my sister to pick up her own Wet Brush and she loves it. I plan to buy two more to have as backups cause with kids you never known; plus I want to keep one in my purse. I plan to purchase more as holiday gifts, stocking stuffers, for my teenage nieces and the rest of the ladies in the family. A must have brush for everyone, so go out and get yourself The Wet Brush because it certainly is the best detangling Brush ever!

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear – Blue It Review

My first beauty product review is of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Blue It (250). This was my very first nail polish. I picked this stunning blue up at Ulta on clearance. It is almost like a royal blue with a bit of shimmer to it. The formula is wonderful. It wasn’t runny or streaky.

I started off by doing a pedicure and one coat was all it took; pardon the cleanup job. I added a decal, which made the pedicure even pop more. Clearly Spock approves … lol …

I still couldn’t get enough of this color and opted to do a manicure. I had also just picked up a set of Mash dotting tools (review coming in the future). I did a clear base coat using Sally Hansen Green Tea + Bamboo Strengthener, which is a base and topcoat (review coming in the future). I placed tape on the diagonal to cover part of my nail and the exposed part painted with Blue It (250). One coat is all it took. Then added black and white alternating dots. Covered with the Green Tea + Bamboo Strengthener and was done. This manicure lasted over a week with no chips. I was truly amazed.

Since I am into stamping I wanted to share a sample of how Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear – Blue It performs as a stamping polish. I placed a quick swatch of black polish and white polish over my tester stone (thanks so much to soguesswhat11 for that fantastic idea, check her out on youtube). It picks up nicely on the stamper and transfers well on white but does not show up well on the black. So a thumbs up on light colors and thumbs down on dark colors. The image stamped is from Bundle Monster plate BM06.

Welcome to Blue Brain Reviews

My goal is to share beauty product reviews, beauty tips for hair, hair product reviews, deals and freebies. I’m a mother, so I will also be sharing product reviews on children’s products. Also I might toss in some crafting product reviews since that is something else I’m into.

But lets start off first with beauty inventory. I love seeing other beauty blogger’s inventory. You get to see some pretty awesome stashes and collections that you may have missed especially in the nail world. Also it is great to see that other people share the same passion that you do for nails, makeup and hair. So I would like to share my modest nail polish collection. I own about 143 nail polishes, which is nothing compared to what I have seen from some of my favorite nail bloggers. I own some Konad plates, Bundle Monster plates and Salon Express plates. I own a Rada Pro Portable Nail Station.

As for hair care, this is just one cabinet shelve full of my hair care products. I have another cabinet just of Dominican Hair Care products and other Caribbean Hair Care products. I’m always looking for brushes, combs and any other hair care gadget to try on my hair.
