Beauty Tips for Women: Christmas Tree Manicure 2013

I’ve been so behind in posting that I have a handful of Christmas manicures that I did in 2013 that I did write a post about.  I put the pictures up on my instagram, twitter and the facebook page when I did them.  So now I’m back tracking and posting up the steps and polished used.

This manicure was a test in using my non-dominant hand and I did these on 12/2/13.  I decided to do Christmas trees.  I used a rhinestone wheel, nail art brush, Pure Ice Jaguar, Ulta Envy, China Glaze Winter Holly, and Color Club top coat. Nail Art Polish Beauty tips for Women 350

I did two coats of Jaguar.

Using the nail art brush I did a triangle shape using Envy then topped it with Winter Holly.  My proportions were all off and I should have used tape to get a better line but oh well. Nail Art Polish Beauty tips for Women 352Nail Art Polish Beauty tips for Women 353

I added some red rhinestones at the top and then finished it off with top coat. Nail Art Polish Beauty tips for Women 354

I wasn’t very happy with how it came out but the only way to improve using my left hand is to keep at it.

Beauty Tips for Women: Christmas Manicure for Kids

My four year old asked me to do her nails for her Christmas party at preschool in which Santa is going to pay a visit.  Even though I am sick with a horrible cold I couldn’t turn her down.  This manicure was all her design.  She wanted candy canes, Santa Claus, and white snow.  My mind nearly exploded with the request and this nasty head cold I have going on.

Here are the polishes I used to make this manicure: Wet n Wild Hallucinate, Wet n Wild French White Crème, Milani stripper in White Canvas, China Glaze Ruby Pumps, Piggy Polish Jingle Belle, and Cina Holiday Cheer decals. Nail Art Polish Beauty tips for Women 283

Her pinky got two coats of French White Crème. Her ring finger got two coats of Jingle Belle.  The rest of her fingers got two coats of Ruby Pumps.  I let everything dry.  Luck was on our side with finding a Santa Claus decal that fit her ring finger.  Her pinky got a coat of Hallucinate.  Using the stripper I set about making the stripes.  This was a bit challenging because of her nail size but I did my best. She loves her manicure and is very proud of her design.   I’m glad to have gotten through it with this head cold and very pleased on how it came out.  This is a very simple design that your kid will love.

Beauty Tips for Women: Santa Claus Hat Christmas Manicure

It is December again, so I’m getting into the Christmas spirit.  For this manicure I did a recreation of a YouTube manicure from CutePolish.  Her YouTube channel is great with easy and cute nail art tutorials.  You can find her at http://youtube.com/cutepolish.

So here are the supplies for my Santa Hat manicure: Tape, dotting tools, Venique base coat, Venique WingTip White, Orly Unlawful, Color Club fast dry top coat. Nail Art Polish Beauty tips for Women 274

I started off with taping my nails in the shape of the hat to get that crisp line.  I then applied Venique base coat.

I applied one coat of Orly Unlawful.

I then did the pompom top on the hat with the largest dotting tool using Venique WingTip. Nail Art Polish Beauty tips for Women 277

Next up was the trim on the bottom of the hat.  I did about two rows of dots to make the trip nice and full.
