Wicked In Ft Lauderdale

dragonI was so happy that the tour of WICKED came to my city and I was able to win tickets to WICKED.  The last time the tour came I didn’t win, so I was bumped out by that.  I had received the special preview sales from Broadway Across America and I was debating whether to purchase tickets.  But due to budget issues I thought twice about it and poured full force into finding ways to win tickets to WICKED.

I was able to win ticket to WICKED through my local radio station’s member contest.  As I previously recommended, join your local radio station and local TV station’s websites.  The tickets were for great seats on the front row of the mezzanine section.  I have never won bad seats to any event, so enter the contests and try your luck.

I wish I could have seen WICKED when it first opened up in 2003 with the original cast of Idina Menzel, Kristin Chenoweth, and Norbert Leo Butz.  But trust me that the touring company of WICKED musical delivered a heart stopping performance.  The cast for the main rolls was composed as follows:

Glinda played by Chandra Lee Schwartz
Elphaba played by Jackie Burns
Nessarose played by Stefanie Brown
Boq played by Justin Brill
Madame Morrible played by Randy Danson
Doctor Dillamond played by Paul Slade Smith
Fiyero played by Colin Hanlon
The Wonderful Wizard of Oz played by Mark Jacoby

I wish I could list the entire cast but it would be an extensive list; but they rocked. The set was awesome.  There was a huge mechanical dragon that adorned the upper frame of the stage; it was breathtaking. For those who have read the book on which the musical WICKED is based on, you would have recognized this as the prophetic clock of the time dragon; keep that under you witch hat or tiara as a nice trivia question.

During the intermission I braved the crowds to check out the merchandise.  They had a nice assortment of T-shirts, jackets, hats, key chains, and the cd recording of the original cast.  The T-shirts started off at $25 and the cd was the same price.  I opted to treat myself with a T-shirts although I wanted the cd too.  But I had an idea on how to get the cd cheaper or even get the songs for free.  I’ll share that adventure in an upcoming post.

Buy Buy Baby Coupons For The New School Year

wd-001_1zI received a circular with my Sunday paper for buy buy baby and I thought it would be perfect for an article on my buy buy baby coupons blog. The circular came with some great buy buy baby coupons, one of which was $5 off any purchase of $15 or more.

With the new school year fast approaching or already started, you can use these buy buy baby coupons to pick up some neat stuff for the little ones.  I came across a nap mat, but not just any old plain mat, but a really updated version that is super convenient.  The mats come with a removable pillow, attached blanket, Velcro closures, carry strap and a nametag area. These nap mats can make for great adventure out of naps at home or overnights with grandparents and best of all for daycare and preschool.  Everything is attached and rolls up plus the added feature of the built in nametag cannot be beat.  The nap mats can be found in Disney/Pixar designs, Hello Kitty, Dora, Disney Princess, Disney Fairies, You Gabba Gabba, and other favorites of characters.

Another great use for your buy buy baby coupons is the variety of backpacks that are offered.  One backpack that caught my eye is the Dabbawalla backpack that is sized for preschoolers; the backpack can fit a child ages 3 to 7.  The backpacks are insulated which give it a dual use.  My only issue with this backpack is the price of $34.99.  Even with using my buy buy baby coupons it would still be out of my price range of what I would want to spend on a backpack; but still the features are wonderful and if you can afford it, go for it.

One thing to always remember is to check out the clearance section in stores and online because you can really get some great deals by applying your buy buy baby coupons.  Here is a great item I picked up on clearance.  I love LeapFrog products and I found on clearance the LeapFrog Fridge Phonics Fridge Talk Magnetic Wordplay Recorder for $15; this product usual sells for between $19 to $24.  I quickly grabbed it and applied my buy buy baby coupon and got it for $10, not a bad deal that will keep my 5 year old busy and help her learn.
