Spornette What A Gem Detangling Bush

The Spornette What A Gem brush came in this lovely packaging and included a free Gem clip. The description on the back tells you all the details and use of the brush.

I love the look of this brush and it is lightweight. I like that that the head of the brush is all one piece and not vented; that way you don’t get product buildup inside the brush and since the backing of the brush and bristle area is one piece it will not come loose while brushing.

Here is a video of the Spornette What A Gem Detangling Brush in action. I used it on myself and my girls. We all have different hair types. I have thin curly hair. One of my daughters has thick wavy/curly hair and my other has thick straight hair.

Like I said in the video I use a wide tooth comb to detangle my hair. Sometimes I use a brush to distribute product in my hair but only after it has been detangled. The brush worked great on my hair. But the biggest test were the girls. My youngest gets a lot of tangles and knots. So, I own quite a few different name brand detangling brushes, all of which she has complained about. This was the first time I could detangle her hair without a complaint.

I am very impressed with how well What A Gem detangling brush worked. What A Gem will be my go to detangling brush, especially for my girls.

Review: Jane Carter Solution Revive & Repair Hair Masque

My only experience with Jane Carter Solution is using their Revitalizing Leave-in Conditioner to refresh my curls. The Revitalizing Leave-in is great. I was in need of a treatment so I decided I would try their hair masque. I purchased the Jane Carter Solution Revive & Repair Hair Masque.

I started off by washing my hair with Shea Moisture African Water Mint & Ginger Detox & Refresh Hair & Scalp Gentle Shampoo. With my hair wet, I applied the masque in sections to my hair. The masque is thick and creamy with a pleasant smell. The slip is amazing. I left it on for 20 minutes and used a heating cap. My hair felt super soft when I rinsed it out. To style my hair I used the Revitalizing Leave-in. I didn’t use anything else because I wanted to see what would happen.

Really pleased with the results. The Revive & Repair Hair Masque delivered on its claims. This is definitely a holy grail product for me.  beauty-tips-for-women-715

Review of Controlled Chaos Curl Crème

I won a contest being hosted by Controlled Chaos for their Curl Crème.  Curl Crème “enhances, conditions and defines all types of curls. Eliminates frizz and locks out humidity. Gluten, sulfate and paraben free and BPA UV protection”.  This crème sounds amazing, so I could not wait to use it.

I checked out their “Style” section on their webpage, Controlled Chaos.  I found the videos on this page useful in showing how to use their product in different ways and on different types of curly hair.

I washed my hair with Acure Repairing Shampoo and Conditioner.  I made sure that I completely rinsed out my hair.  I applied a small amount of the Curl Crème to help detangle my soaking wet hair.  I sectioned my hair so that I could get full coverage of Curl Crème throughout.  I applied very little to my roots and concentrated on my length like their website suggests.  I let my hair air dry.  I had no crunchy or stickiness.  When my hair felt dry, I scrunched it out.   My hair did not have that weighed down feeling.  I was impressed by the curl definition and how bouncy they looked.  beauty-tips-for-women-704beauty-tips-for-women-706

My hair did not frizz out as I ran errand throughout the day; and I live in a high humidity state.

Controlled Chaos is a must have.  It certainly lived up to its claims.  beauty-tips-for-women-707
